WASP London

Bandeau WASP Londres 2014

50 years of the WASP in London, from the 13th to the 15th of November, 2014

From the 13th to the 15th of November 2014, London held the Jubilee Congress of the World Association of Social Psychiatry (WASP). As many of you know, the WASP was launched 50 years ago and the Jubilee celebration is the perfect opportunity to share with you the achievements of the association over the years and prepare for the future in the context of an academically stimulating and socially rewarding scientific meeting. In an echo of the past and looking to the future, this congress is co-hosted by the Faculty of Rehabilitation and Social Psychiatry of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The theme of the congress is Social Psychiatry: past, present and future with an emphasis on the presentation of new research findings, clinical innovations and stimulating discussions of the opportunities for future international collaboration and achievement in our field. Presentations and debates will be organized by renowned personalities in psychiatry and psychology, such as Dr Bennegadi, the Secretary General of the WASP and the President of the AFPS who presented his research on the «The Context of Mental Health and the Future of Social Psychiatry as a Future Approach  in Transcultural Psychiatry ».

Homage to Dr. Marc Habib

Doctor Marc Habib left us last April, the 14th.

An important figure in French psychiatry, he managed the « Association l’Élan retrouvé », an association having contributed to the transformation of the field of French psychiatry under the direction of its creator, Pr Paul Sivadon.

A dedicated partner for social psychiatry, an informed and unanimously recognized clinician, he was also the the previous President of the AFPPS, which soon after became the AFPS.

His clinical expertise, great analytical skills and especially his humor will be greatly missed by our team, and all members of the AFPS can testify to their gratitude for all that he has built and brought to our association

His intelligence and his benevolence will continue to accompany us and inspire us.

The AFPS team pay tribute to his memory and extend support to his family and friends.
